Through the WASH program, Impact East Africa has donated boreholes to schools over the past years. This has seen a great improvement in pupils’ performances as well as in the living standards of community members. On average, one borehole serves at least 40 families on a daily basis. With each family drawing at least 200 liters daily, this means an average daily yield per borehole is 8000 liters. The distance families would travel to fetch water has reduced thus making it easier for them to make time for other chores. An average family unit would consist of a father, mother and 5 children. This therefore means a single borehole would be serving 280 people on a daily basis.
