Impact East Africa was incorporated under the Companies Act (Cap. 486) as a Limited company by Guarantee in the year 2001. IEA’s works to ensure that the poor and vulnerable communities have access to quality health care with a great commitment to the prevention and alleviation of disabilities; it has had a great impact on the lives of various marginalized individuals in the society in a unique way. IEA has rendered services to communities in Kibwezi, Embu, and currently serves in Kitui county which is classified as an ASAL region.
OUR CORE OBJECTIVES
- To promote positive health among the staff and pupils
- To ensure general community health by using the child as a channel for health messages to the family
- To improve the physical and social environment of the school
- To provide primary, secondary and tertiary prevention of diseases through health education
- To ensure that the remote areas benefit from maternal and child health services
- To provide both antenatal and post-natal checkups to expectant mothers
- To immunize children against immunizable childhood diseases
- To provide health education to mothers, nutritional supplements to expectant mothers, and child spacing services to post-natal mothers
- To ensure good nutrition practice amongst community members
- To ensure that the members gain knowledge on maternal and child health
- To build the confidence of women at the local level to realize their importance in addressing socio-economic issues at the micro-level of the society.
- To empower women to participate in developmental activities at both family and community level
